Historical fiction with a humorous twist

In 2006 two brand new authors Cathy Marie Hake and Deanne Gist burst onto the fiction scene with a new, humorous twist to historical fiction. Their characters were imperfect, intelligent and usually got themselves into funny predicaments as independent women. That was beginning of a sub-genre in historical fiction that caught on quickly and continues to grow. Here are a few examples of upcoming historical fiction with a humorous twist:
