Earlier this year I named J. Todd Billings’ book Union with Christ: Reframing Theology and Ministry for the Church as one of my books of the year. Christianity Today also recognized the book, giving it an “award of merit” in the theology/ethics category. I have noted that Billings’ work is most significant for its “push-back” against the myriad critiques of traditional understandings of the gospel and how the church should apply that gospel to broader social involvement. For these reasons, I decided to interview Billings.
The interview is in three segments and deals with Billings’ intentions in writing the book while also exploring the books argument and content. CBD is currently listing Union with Christ book for $12.49.
