Eerdmans Announces New Volume on 1 Corinthians in the Pillar NT Series…
Jun 21st, 2010 by M. Miller
First Corinthians has received several first rate scholarly treatments in recent years. Arguably, the best among these are Gordon Fee’s volume The First Epistle to the Corinthians in the NICNT series, and Anthony Thiselton’s volume in the NIGTC series of the same name. David Garland, in the BECNT series also offered an exceptional, and award winning, treatment simply entitled, 1 Corinthians.

Recently, the Christianbook.com/academicblog named the Pillar NT series the best available commentary series on the market. In that post I specifically identified the upcoming
1 Corinthians volume as critical to the continued success of the, to date outstanding, Pillar NT series. Eerdmans has announced that volume and it is due for release in August. Following series standards, the volume is entitled the The First Letter to the Corinthians and is co-authored by Roy Ciampa (Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary) and Brian Rosner (Moore Theological College).
Though it is difficult to speculate on what the commentary will contain, we hope for an extended engagement with Fee, Thiselton, and Garland as well as a significant emphasis on intertextuality. The volume is now available for pre-order at Christianbook.com/acadmic for an excellent price of $44.99.
